iVOS Hardware & Software Guidelines

    The following guidelines apply to particular iVOS releases as indicated below.

    Database Server Hardware & Software Guidelines

    Hardware guidelines should be based on the database selected. Refer to database version and database server pre-requisites recommended by your vendor.

    Databases Supported:

    iVOS 3.1, 4.0, 4.1 iVOS 4.2
    • Oracle 9.2.0.6 or later, Oracle 10.1.0
    • MS SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 3
    • MS SQL Server 2005 (iVOS 4.1 only)
    • Oracle 10.2.0.3.0
    • MS SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 4
    • MS SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 1

    Disk space requirements depend upon the amount of historical data, annual claims volume, and optional modules selected, such as Document Imaging.

    Web Application Server Hardware & Software Guidelines

    iVOS 3.1, 4.0, 4.1 iVOS 4.2
    • Server: Platform-independent with dual
      1GHz processor system and 1GB of RAM
      minimum. This recommendation will vary
      depending on your O/S, etc.
    • J2EE 1.3 / J2SE 1.4 / J2SE 5.0 compliant
      application server.
    • The following specific application server
      versions are supported for iVOS 3.1, 4.0,
      and 4.1 unless specifically noted:
      • Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2
        (10.1.2.0.0)
      • IBM WebSphere 5.1 and 6.0
      • BEA Weblogic 8.1
      • Apache Tomcat 4.1.30 or Apache
        Tomcat 5.0.28
      • Apache Tomcat 5.5.15 (iVOS 4.1 only)
    • Server: Platform-independent with dual
      2GHz processor system and 2GB of RAM
      minimum, 4 GB recommended. This
      recommendation will vary depending on
      your operating system and other factors.
      Additionally, this recommendation
      assumes no other applications running
      on the server.
    • J2SE 5.0 (also known as 1.5) compliant
      application server.
    • iVOS 4.2 has been certified with the
      following specific application server
      versions:
      • Apache Tomcat 5.5.15
      • Apache Tomcat 6.0

    Note: iVOS 4.2.1 will be certified with Oracle AS, BEA WebLogic, and IBM WebSphere.

    Desktop Hardware Recommendations and Software Certification

    iVOS 3.1, 4.0, 4.1 iVOS 4.2
    • Minimum 2GHz Processor (or 3GHz when
      ordering new-dual core preferred)
    • Minimum 512MB RAM for Windows 98,
      Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP (or 1GB when ordering new)
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or 6.0
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 (iVOS 4.0 & 4.1)
    • Microsoft Word and Excel (2000 or 2003)
    • Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0
    • Minimum 2GHz processor
    • Minimum 1GB RAM for Windows XP or
      2GB RAM for Windows Vista
    • Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0
    • Microsoft Word and Excel 2003 and 2007
    • Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0

    Internet Connection

    Bandwidth requirements depend upon the volume of traffic.

    • Download speed: 1.5Mb/sec
    • Upload speed: 384Kb/sec (for hosted Bill Review Services, 1.5Mb/sec)

    Printers

    • Check Printers ~ HP LaserJet family that have MICR toner cartridges available (optional)
    • Letter/Report Printer ~ Laser printer (HP preferred)

    Scanners

    • Recommend scanning to PDF (Black and White) to support document splitting.
    • 300 DPI.
    • Compression set to CCITT4.
    • Able to scan to either a network folder or email address depending on client preference.
    • Scan should be binary.
    • Scan should produce file in portrait layout. 8.5 X 11 mode, not cropped.
