Session Title: Streamlining the Claims Desktop — New Technology Centralizes Claims Tools and Orchestrates Processes

Key Presenters: Tim Schenfisch, Director of IT, Workforce & Safety Insurance
Randy Wheeler, Managing Director, Aon eSolutions

Description:
Specialized claims software now helps evaluate a wide range of expenses such as bodily injuries, litigation and fraudulent claims and interacts with third-party providers such as repair vendors, salvage dealers and medical bill review firms. While these software tools help improve accuracy and consistency in claim handling, adjusters are typically forced to enter basic claim information multiple times, as well as logon to each separate system throughout the day. Instead of being a helpful tool kit, the array of software products on the typical adjuster’s desktop can actually hamper productivity. A few leading insurers have confronted these challenges with software that seamlessly integrates all aspects of claims administration and claims evaluation. For the first time in the industry’s history, claims managers can now envision processes bereft of paper that actually orchestrate claims workflows and support goals for improved customer service and increased consistency and accuracy. Data is shared among all applications involved in the process (eliminating duplicate data entry) and allows the adjuster to access all necessary information and tools with a single user ID. We’ll discuss how companies can build a strong business case to support new claims software and walk attendees through the implementation and customization process.

Objectives:

  • Attendees will learn how integrated claims software can improve customer service and improve consistency and accuracy.
  • Attendees will hear how an integrated claims desktop will lower costs associated with implementing and maintaining interfaces between multiple claims tools and the claims admin system.
  • Attendees will learn how companies are integrating claims software to provide adjusters immediate access to verify coverage, evaluate claims, review invoices and order information and compose emails all with a single signon.
